Karen Johnson speaks from the heart, with candour and honesty, in a way that is both compelling and inspiring. Karen’s story is one of triumph over adversity. She is the type of woman you would look at and never think that this was her history. I am proud of Karen, and when she set herself the challenge of writing she never wavered. This book may be shocking in parts, and sometimes it is in the smallest details that you find yourself trying to understand how you would cope, and what you would do, when faced with a life that Karen has lived in the past. However, what shines through most are Karen’s courage, determination and spirit as she rebuilds her future. T his book is an amazing achievement, second only to Karen’s role as a mum. Her three beautiful, intelligent, feisty and independent children are a testament to everything she is as a mother. Out of the Corner is a book which will leave a lasting impression and, while it covers a complex array of emotions, its singular message is universal: it is one of hope.

"My Journey with Marcia M Spence over the past 4months has been really inspirational, this woman is not just a professional person, she is a people’s person, she is honest, passionate and has integrity. Marcia M believes in what she is doing and delivers what you ask her to do and even more. Before meeting Marcia I lost money paying people who said that they could edit and publish my book, this left my book unpublished for two years. I went to many companies for help, but with my strong African accent and my story being an Africa based story, I struggled to find someone who understood what I wanted to achieve.

What was remarkable about Marcia was that as soon as I signed up for Marcia to publish my book, she worked on it like she was an African woman; she had such understanding and insight even though she is a British Born Jamaican. This makes Marcia very unique, she is so diverse; she is able to work with people of all ethnic backgrounds.
Marcia M Spence does the Job!
She doesn’t just talk the talk, she walks the walk.
Marcia works from the heart.
Marcia was able to listen and help me work through my emotions as sometimes I would be in floods of tears, she was there for me. Marcia reproduced in writing my words that she recorded for me.
Marcia made me become an author"

Ritu was meant to be born! Coming from a very wealthy family and educated in some of India's finest fee paying schools and colleges, this little girl lived an impoverished life. Just because she was born a Girl! Imagine growing up without your basic needs of comfort, love, affection and attention being met. This little girl was hardly ever validated or praised within her family home despite being a high achieving university graduate and award winning
student and actress. She spent her life looking for love and affection, in so doing she married for love against her family and society’s wishes. This decision left Ritu outcast and disinherited. In this book the writer questions Indian society and the issue of family honour; she raises the long term impact of emotional abuse of women and girls. The story examines the dynamics of the relationships she had with her family and her world view. Ritu has found strength from within to empower and heal from her continued heartbreak over her treatment, which was subtle but damaging. A well written easy read which gives an inside view of the life as a girl growing up in Amritsar, India in the 70's, 80's and 90's and of how she survives her new life in the UK.

Ritu Sharma testimonial:
Marcia M is a phenomenal woman who supported me through my journey of writing and publishing my first book 'Rich Man's Poor Daughter'.
One quality I admire in Marcia is her authenticity and her ability to be true to her word. She provides excellent service and works tirelessly to help materialise your book.
I would like to recommend her to anyone wishing to publish their book…

At last a book has finally been written about the African and Caribbean communities in Walsall. This remarkable book is the result of genuine collaborative efforts of a number of Walsall and Black Country participants. Not only does this book recapture the stories of a group of Caribbean migrants who came to live and work in the town in the 1950s and 1960s, but the research was carried out by the Walsall Local Black History Group, with the printing and publishing completed by local businesses, thus ensuring that this book can be described as a truly Walsall product. Notwithstanding this, however, the book is for everyone, especially readers particularly interested in contemporary local British history and also the community relations. What this book successfully manages to do, is to carefully record and document the powerful and personal experiences of African Caribbean people who came to settle in Walsall in the 1950s and 1960s. In many instances, the writers have, through their use of actual quotations from the people interviewed, allowed their voices to be heard. Despite the ‘Sweat, tears and eventual triumphs,’ these pioneering individuals survived and contributed greatly to the Walsall community.

Is there no line between addiction and passion?
Slim’s dream of becoming a screenwriter spurs her on to move from being in front of the camera, an area that she knows so well; to delve into the world behind the screens of TV and Film. An area that is so much harder to crack.
Without letting her tears drown her dreams, she becomes a woman on a mission to survive along the path that she has chosen, no matter the price. Slim’s scripts have split her mind into two: true life lessons and experiences that she wasn’t ready to act out. Who knew the power of the pen would lead her down a chaotic path of destruction that was about to cast her as the leading lady in a role she didn’t audition for.
For every piece of
paper she uses to create stories that she believes will make it onto the big screen there is a weapon created against her which opens up another door to an industry that is filled with glitz and glam, an industry that has no openings for a London Girl. Remember, paper rips, tears, and shreds no matter how delicate you are with it. If success was as pure as the paper she typed on, maybe this story would never have to be told.
A paper cut is typically shallow, but the paper handled by Slim throughout her journey doled out the deepest Paper Cuts and we all know those cuts, they hurt like Hell.
It’s going to take more than saliva to soothe away this dream...
...Slim knows it’s absolutely compulsory to write and fight to the finish.

II have since gone on to continue to create screenplays independently building my brand Scriptchik in 2016, writing for U.K. and American Directors. I feel the void of creative diverse scripts in the UK screams attention on our TV screens. I have worked to create a catalogue of mixed ethnic drama that touches on the controversial issues that many people of colour face today, along with also an American sitcom which are in post-production. I bring hard-hitting twists to leave strong messages for the youth today. Writing the screenplays is something I feel close to with my own personal journeys as a choreographer and writer I knew I could bring a voice to the screen. I am the pen that isn't afraid to write so if it’s through my screenplays my voice is heard then I’m going to need a lot of ink.”

Tarnya was driven to write this book in mid-January 2018 she was led by her passion and purpose to motivate and inspire others with her own life story. A story she describes as "a journey of Open Doors."

Coley A lecturer and motivational speaker who seeks to inspire, motivate, empower and create awareness to reach your full potential. She is a firm believer in encouraging clients to be the best version of themselves, so they can become everything they set out to do.Her desire is to help clients to understand the keys to living a pleasant and fulfilled life. Also exhibiting how they can make those small changes so they can achieve a better quality of life.It is important to believe in yourself because that is where it all starts!

In her Introduction the debut published author
who completed her first draft of the
book in just 6 weeks, writes...

"My life; my journey. Faced with rejection, low self-esteem, adversity and near-death experiences, I went on a journey of healing and, through that process I have found my true worth.

Life is a beautiful journey. I needed to change my perspective. I had to change the way I viewed situations.
This book is about my life, my journey and the many doors of opportunity that I was faced with. We come across many things when we are travelling on a journey. Disappointment, conflict, new opportunities, promotion and so on. We face many decisions and situations in life.
I call these decisions and situations ‘DOORS’.

‘OPEN DOORS’.
What do we do when we are faced with a decision or situation, whether big or small?
Do we close the door and move on? Or do we face the situation or decision and walk through the door? What do we do when we don’t get what we are looking for? Or the situation does not go the way we thought it would? Do we close the door and walk away and think, well, it wasn’t meant to be? We have to go through a process first before we walk through that door.
I have had many opportunities presented throughout my life, and I still do. I have been blessed to have many people in my life that have shown me how to value life.

Throughout this book, there are seven legends that I speak of; past and present. They all have and, continue, to teach me tremendous lessons on my life’s journey. Lessons of kindness, love, patience; how to be faithful and gentle.
Hero’s come and go, but legends last forever- Bryant

Throughout my life, I have sometimes felt that I wanted to close the door on situations and walk away. Some of my life experiences were too painful, and rejection was the biggest obstacle that prevented me from advancing in my life. I allowed it to overtake my life and it changed my perception of how I viewed people. On reflection, YES, there was pain. YES, there was hurt. I had to walk through that door and learn how to deal with the anguish.
Come on a journey with me."

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
My name is Rose Blaize and I was born in Forest Gate, East London. We were raised by beautiful parents who loved us, my siblings and I. My parents were traditional West Indians who savoured their values, exercising good manners, order in the home, worked hard and maintained strong relations with their extended families with whom we are closely bonded. Those values of family unity live on in our family, together we are united and support one another in times of sorrow and gladness.

I attended a comprehensive inner-city school, where we dreaded the cane, respected our elders and had double portions of 'Jam roly poly’ for lunch. You greeted your neighbour and had a strong sense of community. We, my generation understood the value of education and respect towards one another. A gift given to us by or parents from a different cultural strain.

I grew up in a melting pot of different racial and cultural expression. I was to some extent by default of my experience a part of the rich tapestry of my environment, being urban London. This fashioned my interaction and the way in which I related to others. I have always had a caring nature person and qualified as a social worker in the social welfare in 1996. I have had the privilege of working with many different professionals and young people of all ages, so much so, that I was able to combine those experiences; those similarities, yet unique scenarios, in order to give back by way of virtues, such as kindness, attentiveness, positive regard and respectfulness which was gratefully received by those who were experiencing vulnerability and hardship. Observing these external struggles left me in a state of gratitude for all that I possessed and felt the need to be available, to enable, to empower others. My mother died nearly 3 years ago and I was devastated but I understood that I live on as an extension of her and had to extend and grow. I know she’s proud of me, as is my father.

So, I completed, ‘Truthingdom’ the series. I will go on to write more books that are meaningful, that talk of purpose and significance.

Enjoy, Enjoy!

The Path to Success
In this series of books entitled The Path To... you will finally begin to understand who you are as a lifelong learner. Unfortunately, especially in the digital age we currently live in, the modernised Victorian method of learning is simply not enough. While there is truth in the fact that some things need to be taught there is even more evidence that learning needs to be experienced. Einstein himself said imagination is more important than knowledge. He was not
implying that one does not need knowledge; he was indeed referring to the fact that knowledge remains dormant if one cannot use imagination to bring knowledge to life. That is the intention of this series of books.
The series allows you to harness the power of SLEEP and by SLEEP we mean; creating your own Success journey by expanding your Learning experience with the Enthusiasm and Energy needed to fulfil your Purpose . Each of these books gives you the key to open your imagination to the different aspects of you the student. The Path to Success is exactly that, a path, not a leap, jump or sprint. It is a journey made up of many destinations. Success means something different to everyone. With so many in terpretations of the word how can you determine exactly what success means to you without it being tainted by others? Only you know the answer but this book is a great personal assistant. It will help you to unravel your experiences and limiting beliefs, enabling you to clear and build the path to your success.

From early childhood we were expected to participate in and be successful learners but learning is not always a natural process. Learning by nurture is all well and good but when it comes to the classroom we don’t always engage and therefore learning at any level becomes more difficult. This book is not about grades, high achieving or low attainment. It’s about how we learn and how we can get better at it. There are plenty of options when it comes to studying and books are just one of them. Here, we look at methods that
will increase your potential, open your mind and expand your tool kit to build the path to your success.

About the author
As founder of OVP Coaching I am genuinely enthusiastic about encouraging people to live life on purpose, grasp opportunities and embrace the responsibility to have the life they want to live. Living life on purpose is what drives me. I am a strong believer in the fact that every encounter we
have has a lesson built into it. If we can harness the learning and apply it to future interactions, growth is inevitable. Just like the common cold, it is scienti
fically impossible to catch the same cold twice. Life shows us that although the symptoms may resemble one another the lessons to be learned from each incident is unique. We are therefore successful when we allow ourselves to apply the learning with enthusiasm, on an energy level that is synchronous wit
h our purpose. That is what leads us to persevere despite the odds and live a life of passion. The inspiration for these books comes from my personal learning journey with students I have had the privilege of working with. Understanding their needs, aspirations and helping them remove their roadblocks encouraged me to help even more students of all ages. Today I am delighted to say and say with gratitude that through OVP Coaching and partners, I am able to reach out many more students through writing, speaking, coaching and
mentoring.
